Castillo de Aresan is located in the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla region of Spain, in the town of Villarrobledo. The wine making in this region produces the majority of Spain's most well-known varietal, Tempranillo. The prestigious region of La Mancha is located within Castilla and is known for its more stringent viticulture and winemaking restrictions. It often overshadows wines from this region, as wine lovers know that some of the best Tempranillos can be found here; this wine being a prime example.

Castillo de Aresan's 170 hectares of vineyards flourish on the plain of Meseta, which is known for having the world's largest area covered by vineyards. The shallow and sandy soils, with chalk and sandstone layers, produce superior quality grapes. Wines from this region are full-bodied with ripe tannins, robust fruit, and spice aromas.

This Tempranillo displays an intense cherry red with purplish reflections in the glass. The nose is spicy with fresh fruits and licorice. Its palate is nicely balanced, with roundness and elegance, and has a long finish. Pair with meat-based tapas, such as thin slices of Iberian ham, and aged cheeses like Manchego. This wine will also pair nicely with beef ribs in black pepper sauce, a chorizo omelet, or a simple roast chicken.
