Trewa is part of the Aguirre dynasty that has produced many of Chile's finest wines of nearly 500 years. The first vines were planted by Francisco de Aguirre in 1551. It was almost 300 years later that Chile saw a significant transformation of its winemaking. French and Italian settlers came to the New World with their Old-World varietals and their wine culture that went back thousands of years.

Winemaker, Sergio Correa, boasts an international resume of incredible winemaking and technical innovation. He has almost single-handedly helped make Chile one of the most exciting wine areas in the world.

The soils here are composed of volcanic ash, sand and loam. The vineyards are flat and receive excellent exposure to sunlight. The yields are carefully controlled to produce concentrated wines of excellent quality and elegance.

The vineyards enjoy an exceptional climate. The Maule region has a Mediterranean type climate. Winter rains are normal, and summers are dry. The accentuated variations in temperature between day and night, allow the grapes to develop with a strong ripe tannin, great flavor and excellent color concentration.

Ours is a classic dense, black cherry and chocolate bomb with layers extract and spice. The wine progresses seamlessly from front to back and would shine with a charred steak, fajitas or leg of lamb with garlic lentils.
