Famiglia Bianchi's history goes back to 1928 when Valentin Bianchi founded his winery in the heart of Mendoza's wine district. Little was known then about the potential Mendoza had for making stellar wines, but it was just a matter of time before it became Argentina's wine jewel.

Bianchi hit the ground running, as just six years later he earned the highest honor at the Wine Exhibition in Mendoza. His son, Raul, joined the team twenty years later and is still at the helm today. In 1996 Raul hired famed winemaker Bob Pepi, whose wines we have featured over the years, to bring more modernization to the estate. Bob's addition was enormous as he introduced modern equipment from the U.S. as well as sustainability and organic compounds into the vineyard.

Taking a note from his Italian roots, Raul chose Nebbiolo for 50% of the blend and the Argentine benchmark, Malbec for the other 50%. We weren't quite sure what to expect here by the marriage of these two grapes, but the result was an inspiration as they blend perfectly together. Malbec contributes the black fruit aspects of this selection, offering dark cherry and cranberry, while the Nebbiolo provides an earthy spice and finely tuned fruit reminiscent of red licorice and pomegranate.

The result is a passionate blend of flavors and textures ready to settle down to a classic Argentine BBQ of roasted meats and vegetables, all elevated by ample amounts of garlic and olive oil.
