Tony Truchard planted his first vines in 1974 and today we're offering a taste made exclusively from those very vines that were planted more than 44 years ago and are now producing low yields of very small, intense berries. This batch was aged for 10 months in French oak and bottled in August of 2008. Rich aromas of blackberry, rhubarb and wild strawberry start the journey and continues with notes of citrus blossom, tea, and earth. The mouth is round and silky with flavors of plum jam, cranberry and sweet vanilla. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus on the palate and provide a lingering finish of spice and red fruit.
