Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, the founder of Bodega Chacra, is the grandson of wine royalty. His grandfather was the Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, creator of the legendary "Super Tuscan," Sassicaia. But Piero Incisa della Rocchetta travelled all the way to Argentina - far from his boyhood Tuscan home - to plant his vineyards. His goal with Bodega Chacra was to nurture the greatest expression of the unique micro-climate and terroir of Mainqu?, in the R?o Negro region of Patagonia. He creates wines that are pure, transparent, delicate and floral, with a strong mineral component. This vintage is 100% Pinot Noir, aged 10 months in French oak barrels. Concentrated plum and raspberry flavors complement its minerality, and it finishes with lingering sandalwood notes and round tannins. Perfect for pairing with most foods, including fish and vegetarian fare.
